The Hungarian Authority for Consumer Protection (HACP) hereby informs the stakeholders in the field of consumer protection and the public as well that the European Consumer Centre (ECC) in Hungary is hosted at the organizational system of the HACP from the 1st of January 2011.
On the 9th of August 2010 the Ministry for National Economy appointed the Hungarian Authority for Consumer Protection for operating the European Consumer Centre (ECC) in Hungary from the 1st of January 2011.
For settling cross border consumer complaints and facilitating the settlement of cross border legal disputes, every Member State of the European Union together with Iceland and Norway established a European Consumer Center office forming the network of the ECC-NET.
The European Union approved the work programme and the budget of the ECC Hungary that assure its financial and professional independence. Accordingly, the ECC continues its work from the 1st of January 2011 in the organizational system of the HACP with a high level of professionalism.
